2009 Top Human Resources Outsourcing Vendors, Black Book Survey Results

Who Are the Top 10 Human Resources Outsourcing Vendors?

The results from the 2009 Black Book Outsourcing survey indicate that client relationships, innovation and trust are the most important attributes influencing Human Resources Outsourcing (HRO) client satisfaction with their outsourcing providers. HRO is driven by factors like breadth and depth of coverage, domain expertise, location advantage (such as near-shoring and language capabilities), sales and marketing capabilities, data compliance with respect to regulatory standards (especially those defined by the US, Canada and the EU) and the management of business risks. Therefore it is quite likely that companies, both with their own captives and those using third party vendors, may use a “hub and spoke” model in which an offshore supplier may constitute the “center” whereas other units in the world may provide appropriate “spokes”. Clearly, the leaders in HRO in 2009 have demonstrated the expertise of market focus and customer centricity. Scope of This Report
  • The Black Book HRO industry user survey investigated over 900 contracts held by 2,500 user organizations, conglomerates and corporations globally.
  • 18 key performance indicators (KPIs) or criteria are employed, scored on each respective vendor by client type and ranked on a 0-10 scale per KPI.
  • The Top 10 HRO vendors out of the 63 vendors evaluated are identified and the rationale for those rankings are reviewed in detail.

Implementing Strategic Workforce Planning
This Conference Board Report focuses on common challenges companies face when initiating strategic workforce planning (SWP). Based on the research working group’s most pressing concerns, the Report addresses three questions:
  • How do we make a compelling business case for SWP?
  • How can we implement SWP in a way that engages, rather than turns off, business leaders?
  • How do we integrate SWP with business planning, succession planning, and other elements of the talent management strategy?
In addition, the research led to the development of two other frameworks that may help companies to implement SWP:
  • The Maturity Model for Strategic Workforce Planning
  • Emerging skills and competencies that HR must develop—or that companies must find elsewhere, internally or externally.
